Spinner is made well, soft rubber and around the spinner is a harder rubber to protect spinner when dropped. Have been used daily for a week now and it looks like new. Not to mention it has been dropped quite a few times and there's no marks or anything. I actually like this kind of spinner versus the metal and plastic for sure. Spinner spins smoothly and long. This definitely keeps my daughter entertained and calm.
